Island Paradise Restaurant

A couple years ago. They had the best yams. Seemed like last year the recipe changed. I see they did some renovations and I think the prices increased. A small meal is almost 8 dollars after tax. The small meal I think is too small. And you get a spoonful of a side unless you get rice or vegetables. They pack in this tiny tin. Other thing I would say is most everything is spicy. Even the BBQ chicken I wish they would say that.

Unbelievably good food. The sweet and spicy chicken delicious. The cabbage is the best I've had. I'll be back many many times for sure. Ya Mon

Rasta PASTA is the bomb

This morning after I landed on the ground I drove 30 minutes from JFK to this business based on recommendations from my coworker. it was well worth it. When you work for the airline you have the opportunity to experience many different cultural Foods so I been able to taste some very good food, and this business is fantastic. Carol keep doing a wonderful job continue to do what you doing.. I also want to thank my coworker Jon Jon for recommending me this place.. I will pass this on to the next colleague

Nice small spot to get some quick jamaican food, the girl behind the counter was very nice & also pretty funny & you can tell she loves what she does, food was good, ordered oxtail which was okay, not something i was used to, & jerk chicken which was full of spices & delicious. pricey, but a good experience

Jamaican Paradise is my favorite Jamaican restaurant to go to I love their oxtails peas and rice there goat with peas and rice and vegetables also I'm a big fan now of their salmon which is grilled with the little spice kick to it not too much spice but it is so delicious

Great authentic Caribbean food! The people are great too! This is one of those out of the way take out places that you would likely drive past. Find it and pick up some jerk chicken, or oxtail, or seafood, or their yummy house made beef patties, or anything, it's all great. You will be back!

Food is delicious and worth the price

Absolutely fantastic food, the Jerk pork I had the other day was beyond expectations good. I've tried the curried Goat, Shrimp,Jerk Chicken,Mango Salmon and cannot wait to try everything. The flavors and spices were perfectly tasty, finger licking good. I would recommend trying this place if you enjoy Jamaican cuisine, I have also tried many of the homemade juices and drinks everything fresh and tasty. I have been working in the area for many years and always wanted to stop in and try the food. I am ashamed I didn’t stop a lot earlier. No matter what you order here, you are bound to enjoy it. The staff is so friendly and the food is so fresh and delicious. Don’t drive by, stop in and enjoy the food.

Although the food is good, their service is SLOW and their prices are very high $$$$!There's no control over who's next in line to be served.I get a 30 minutes lunch break and usually spend most of the time in queue to place an order. They recently did away with the small order from their menu leaving you only with the medium & large menu sizes. My lunch order came up to about $14.00 & change for a small piece of jerk salmon, two spoonfuls of rice and peas, a small piece of pumpkin and a soda.I learned that right next door to this store is another restaurant where I could get rice & beans with whatever choice of meat and a drink for $8.00 & change.
